SYFY ghost?

August 18th, 2009

Many of our members who keep track of the McBidz blog, the BUZZ circulating on Twitter, and our McBidzers forum were wondering what happened to our SYFY spots this past Sunday which we hyped several times leading up to last weekend. Well the SYFY channel was a new lineup for our coverage area and the cable company bumped them due to a glitch! They will be airing this weekend Saturday 9-11pm and Sunday 9-11pm 2 spots per night. I chose these times to coincide with new movies produced by the SYFY network which will be premiering during this time slot.

Our new two week run in the Southeast starts this Monday August 24th which will include a spot on NFL preseason football 830-930pm on ESPN the 24th and 31st. CNN and TNT will now run many of our TV ads during this period along with spots continuing on Comedy Central, “E”, SYFY on the weekends, and Spike. Look for most of these between afternoon prime times 3pm-12m with CNN running them all day long 6am-12m.

I will be looking into new regions to run our TV promo in during the next 3 weeks while we wind down in the Southeast. At this time it looks like California, but I will let you know when we decide where McBidz will go next with our advertising blitz. Don’t forget to DIGG McBidz www.digg.com !

Updated TV marketing.

August 11th, 2009

Our TV advert continues to do very well going into our second week of rollout in the southeast. We will start a new 2 week cycle on August 24th which will cover the same regions we are running on now. Several updates to our channel lineup will be included such as moving our spots from Bravo & ESPN to CNN as well as moving TBS and USA slots to the very popular TNT network. The SYFY channel will now be included as well on weekends (Sat. & Sun.) running at least four times throughout the day.

Once the second two week rollout winds up for the McBidz TV spot here in the Southeast we will take the spot to cover California, especially around Palo Alto and surrounding areas. Many established websites are located around this central hub and are very popular with the tech crowd so McBidz should see a good showing once the BUZZ starts to spread! Other areas of interest being lined up for the McBidz TV ad are central Florida and upper New York locations I will post more on this once we get closer to the prelaunch of the spot in these areas. The McBidz website has seen a large increase in traffic once the ad hit the airwaves now to around a  thousand or more per day; repetition of the TV advertising in major markets and the BUZZ generated will increase this substantially after several months so keep spreading the word!
