Happy Thanksgiving to all of our McBidzers out there! Have a safe and happy holiday. This time next year we should be well on our way to our goal of 5 million McBidzers by 2010.
Our programmers finished testing and taking our payment modules live last night. We have added the initial News, articles, and links to the sections that contain these options. Our advertisers will get a link on the sections they choose along with their banner ad for the duration of their advertising as well. We encourage those of you who haven’t been using the links on the blog to start exploring and becoming familiar with the McBidz layout to start doing so now. In the next several months we will start ramping up our guerilla advertising focusing on a “Chuckster” McBidz tour up and down the East Coast (Florida through New York) as well as a bunch of press releases to get the word out. Our finale will be a large promotion in New York on launch day. Our focus will now turn to getting our subsidiary site www.MobileCharging.com ready for launch. This site will be more of an information site devoted toward our plans for expanding the charging infrastructure for electric vehicles by way of franchising our service nationwide.

As a follow up from the last post I returned the call from the shows producer at “The Economic Report” and sent them information on the new McBidz mega-site. The Economic Report is focused on up and coming businesses which will be “next generation” so the McBidz model fits right into their programming. Nonetheless it really humbles me to get our McBidzers picked out of literally hundreds of thousands of businesses to be featured on a national syndicated show.
After discussing our launch plans with my associates (team leader, programmers, and advertising agency “street team”) we have decided to set our goal for 5 million “McBidzers” by the start of 2010. We arrived at this number after talking about the kind of street advertising we are planning along with the “Buzz” that is starting to circulate throughout the internet from our current group of several thousand McBidzers. We fully expect this number to be much higher after our guerilla advertising starts to spread.
I had our programmers send our beloved old forums to the graveyard (R.I.P.) after we posted the headings in our new forums in the McBidz social network “McBidzers” http://www.mcbidz.com/mcbidzers/forums.php. I was reading through some of the old post, hours of entertainment no doubt. Our new social network is simply awesome offering everything on sites such as MySpace and Facebook, but even more. Be sure to check them out first when we launch you will want to start there.
A final word on the guerilla advertising which will kick off on our launch day. After much discussion our “Street Team” leader is putting the pressure on for focusing on one large city instead of breaking up the marketing into two segments (NY and CA). Not sure what I’m going to finally decide yet, but we still have time to hash it over.

On a side note the nationally syndicated TV show “The Economic Report” http://www.theeconomicreport.com/index.php broadcast on CNN and MSNBC, called me yesterday about an upcoming show they have scheduled about internet companies. I didn’t get to talk to the producer the call went to my voicemail so we will see where this goes once I call them back.

Looking through past issues of Inc. magazine I realized most of what business owners learn is through experience. Most of the articles you find in any entrepreneur magazine are going to be 95% junk period, useless information. I have been and still am a proliferate reader of news magazines, books, and a cable news junkie, can’t get enough of it. I like to be informed and make the best decisions possible with the information I have at the time.
Building the brand of McBidz started two years ago and continues every day as the word spreads from the thousands of our McBidzers who joined McBidz when it was just an everyday auction site. Now that McBidz has morphed into an internet destination with every possible task you would want to do on the internet whether business or personal what has changed..well “scope”. Now we don’t look at McBidz as simply an auction destination, but an endless space of opportunity for our McBidzers. Why go to say an ebay, myspace, or youtube when you can be a part of a social group accomplishing everything in one place? Of course you don’t this is why McBidz was rebuilt from the ground up.
This is particularly why the rollout plan is so important and why we continue to tweak it weekly to garner the attention McBidz needs to reach its full potential. The problematic part is distinguishing the chaff from what will give us the best (ROI) return on investment. What you won’t see again is radio and TV ads we used during the first McBidz rollout while they attracted enough attention the burn rate was huge. What to expect from the launching of the new McBidz will be unconventional and possibly controversial. Building the brand of McBidz will be fun either way and we look forward to sharing it with you in the coming months with pictures and breaking news announcements. By the way expect several more press releases before McBidz will be launched including one this Tuesday; this will be more for fun than actual breaking news, but hey that’s what McBidz is about!

McBidz subsidiary continues to move forward making great progress during the last week. Ted Campbell from the South Carolina Department of Commerce has taken interest in our company and is working with us to provide substantial support for building the foundation for Mobile Charging, Inc.
In addition we have agreements with two manufacturers working on “fast charging” units to provide our franchisees once we have an operating model and are ready to proceed. Once again the launch of Mobile Charging, Inc. (www.mobilecharging.com) will center on the progress and availability of Electric Vehicles (EV) coming into production in the USA. Mobile Charging will position itself to launch our brand nationally once we feel the climate is right. The Mobile Charging site will be ready before McBidz is launched to the public within the next several months.

We usually networked our press release ourselves in the past, but by having an online newsroom they get catalogued on the internet and make it easier for the media to find us. As we start to ramp up for the launching of the McBidz site we are starting our search for the perfect mascot “Chuckster” representative.
